A vibrant Canadian-born singer of Portuguese descent, Nelly Furtado broke onto the North-American scene in 2000 with her debut album Whoa, Nelly!. Four singles from that record landed on the charts, including the break-out single, "I'm Like a Bird," which garnered her a Grammy Award. A second album, Folklore, was released three years later and was well-received by critics, but wasn't as popular with fans. She was chosen, however, to record the official theme for the 2004 European Football Championship, "For?a," which made her an international name. Nevertheless, Nelly Furtado has found her greatest success yet with the release of her latest album, Loose.
