"We're lucky to have the family connection. We're close and close musically as well."

| Beauty, talent, great voices, multiplied by 3 -- what more could we want? |
 |
| This Irish quartet -- the fourth member is the Corr brother -- have brought us songs such as "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" and "Runaway", with a Celtic touch backed by the voilin and the tin whistle. |

The Corrs' Irish background is attributed to the fact that they grew up in Dundalk, Ireland, on the border of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Music ran in the Corr family genes, with the Corrs' parents being musicians and the Corr children growing up in a home that was always filled with music.
For the Corr siblings, there was no question that they were going to pursue a career in music, since being musicians was all they ever wanted to do. The Corrs formed in 1990 and it didn't take long for them to be discovered by their future manager, John Hughes. Hughes was looking for musicians for the Alan Parker film, The Commitments, and stumbled upon The Corrs during his hunt.
The group's amicable relationship with Hughes led to future concerts, after he invited them to play at a special The Commitments live show in Dublin in 1991.
Soon after, The Corrs performed at a local pub and luckily, Jean Kennedy Smith, the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, was in the audience. Fascinated by their performance, Smith invited them to the US to perform at a World Cup celebration in Boston. This would be the perfect opportunity for the group to gain US publicity and to meet with big record labels.
With luck on their side, there was another important figure in the audience of their American show -- Atlantic Senior Vice President Jason Flom, who suggested they should meet with David Foster, Atlantic Vice President and Producer. Foster was in New York City working with Michael Jackson at the time, and high level security made it impossible for The Corrs to arrange a meeting with him. |
