| She may be a product of Nashville, but this country girl has made it to the top of the charts as a pop artist as well. She's even dabbled in triple-threat territory with modeling and acting gigs. Although her true calling will always remain music, we're happy to watch her dominate any medium she chooses. In fact, we just can't seem to take our eyes off her. |

| Although Faith Hill started her career as a country singer, songs such as "Breathe" and "This Kiss" helped blur the lines between country and pop. In fact, she was very successful as a more mainstream pop artist before returning to her country roots in 2005. And since she began touring with her husband, country music sensation Tim McGraw, the couple has become a force to be reckoned with on the country music scene. |

Audrey Faith Perry was born on September 21, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, but she was raised in the nearby town of Star by her adoptive parents. Faith started singing at an early age and showcased her vocal abilities at family gatherings, local rodeos, fairs, and churches.
She enrolled in college, but it only took a few months for Faith to know that she was ready to pursue a career in country music. At the age of 19, she headed to Nashville to realize her dream.
Faith's first job was at Gary Morris' publishing company, which would eventually lead her to stardom. Caught singing privately by a writer who worked there, Faith was convinced to produce a demo. Gary Morris himself heard Faith's rendition of the song and encouraged her to pursue a singing career.
Shortly thereafter, Faith met songwriter Gary Burr and became a backup singer for him. It was at one of Gary's shows that a representative of Warner Bros. Records heard Faith sing.
The company quickly signed Faith, and her first album, Take Me As I Am, was released in 1993. It sold three million copies and spawned such No. 1 hits as "Wild One" (her debut country single) and a rendition of rocker Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart." |
