Eden's Crush, the pop quintet that spawned from the successful show Popstars, is now invading the music scene.
Made up of Nicole Scherzinger, Maile Misajon, Ana Maria Lombo, Ivette Sosa, and Rosanna Tavarez, Eden's Crush may originate from the American version of Popstars, but the group is anything but All-American.
Each one hails from a different cultural background (as well as extensive singing experience), which is evident in the various sounds and eclectic vibes of their debut album, simply entitled, Popstars.
After months of grueling auditions and callbacks -- all serving as episodes of the show -- Eden's Crush was finally born. The five chosen members moved into an LA apartment together, and spent weeks in the recording studios.
So who are the women of Eden's Crush? They are 22-year-old Nicole and Ana Maria, and 24-year-old Ivette, Maile and Rosanna.
Nicole Scherzinger hails from Honolulu, Hawaii, but calls Louisville, Kentucky home after her family moved there when she was young. Since her mother was a hula dancer, Nicole would join her mother in her performances, after her mother taught her hula dancing at age 3. Although Nicole took school and sports seriously, her heart was always in performing, and she attended a performing arts high school to perfect her singing.
She certainly perfected her vocals all right -- she served as a female background vocalist for the band Days of the New, on tour and on their album. |
