"He believed in me from the first time he heard me open my mouthI picked up the guitar and we began to collaborate. We definitely share a vision. The saying about the sum being greater than the parts -- that's definitely the story with Butch and me."

| With one album already under her belt, Moorer burst onto the scene after performing "A Soft Place to Fall" on The Horse Whisperer soundtrack. The Oscar-nominated single brought attention to Moorer, who has since released the albums Miss Fortune and The Hardest Part, and toured with the likes of Kid Rock. |

| Allison Moorer has been able to cultivate a strong country music following without "selling out." From all accounts, she has remained true to her roots, taking fame in stride. This redheaded Southern belle sets off alarms in men's hearts wherever she goes. Yes, we definitely want more of Moorer. |

Born on June 21, 1972, in Frankville, Alabama, Allison Moorer led a musically-inclined life throughout childhood. Along with her sister Shelby Lynne, Moorer had aspirations of becoming a country music star. These plans got sidetracked, however, when tragedy struck their family.
When Moorer was in her teens, her parents separated. Her father, overcome with grief, visited his wife and shot her to death. He then turned the gun on himself. One would think that anyone close to this horrible incident, as Moorer was, would need years to recover, but our favorite Alabamian proved her strength by pulling through. Though the pain must have been immeasurable, she plugged away at University of Southern Alabama, earning a degree in Public Relations.
On the day of her last exam, Moorer decided to change directions in life. She moved to Nashville in the hopes of advancing her fledgling music career. Music City soon proved to be a great choice, as she quickly earned jobs as a background singer, producing dozens of demos. In the process, Moorer met a man named Doyle "Butch" Primm -- they hit it off both musically and romantically.
Soon, Primm and Moorer were husband and wife, as well as co-producers and co-writers. Moorer, with Primm's connections, soon saw that there was hope at the end of tunnel. Performing at a tribute concert for the late Walter Hyatt, she caught the eye of a booking agent and ended up meeting with MCA Nashville president Tony Brown. After singing on stage for MCA bigwigs, she was signed instantly to a deal. |
