Stacey Hayes was born on August 10, 1976. She spent her early childhood in London, England, where she acted in her first commercial when she was only 3 years old. Stacey quickly expanded her resume with roles in plays and films, in addition to more TV commercials. "I was really desperate to be on stage and do something for attention," she recalls, noting that she always loved the camera.
Part of Stacey's childhood was spent in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she earned the nickname "Casper" from her friends. "As in the friendly ghost," Stacey explains, "because I was so pale... that British never-seen-the-sun skin!" But Stacey was more concerned with getting in the spotlight than in the sunshine, so she took up competitive ice skating and roller skating, modeled, and took acting, voice, and singing lessons.
In her early teens, Stacey Hayes was already getting some minor yet notable gigs. When she was 13, she had a bit part in the Tom Hanks vehicle Turner & Hooch (1989), and at 14, she played the girl in Electronic Arts' popular racing video game Road Rash. But before long, it was clear that the showbiz opportunities Stacey craved were few and far between in Nebraska, and that she would have to relocate if she wanted to pursue the career she wanted. |
