"The best way to fight exhaustion is to flow with the delirium. I don't doubt my lifestyle should have plenty of stories to tell; nevertheless, someone who is very used to all this new cities business, the supposed glamour, and the clothes doesn't find many passionate experiences to bring to a diary."
-Martina Klein

Martina Klein Korin was born on December 7th, 1976, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The daughter of architects, Martina also has a brother, Tommy. In 1988, the family moved to Barcelona, Spain. But Martina, having grown up in Buenos Aires, has kept a special place in her heart for the city and her native Argentina. Indeed, the rest of her family still lives there, and Martina has stayed in touch with both family and friends.
In 1991, at age 15, Martina first began working as a model, and soon found herself increasingly swept up in the fashion world. While she was in high school, she went to all her castings accompanied by her mother Adriana, and modeling was only a part-time job. But once Martina graduated in 1994, she attended even more castings than before.
After high school, Martina attended university, studying history. But she found academia not to her liking, and dropped out without completing a degree. Thereafter, Martina devoted herself to her modeling career. Soon she was doing ads for Renault, Bollicao, Kodak, Coca Cola, Mercedes Benz, Lee Cooper, Kas, Trident, Levi's, Yves Rocher, El Corte Ingles, Wella, Don Algodon, and Mango. More recent campaigns included those for Guess?, l'Oreal, Risk, Cebado, Caroche, Triumph, Zoco, Kleymac, Aninoto, Llongueras, Pronovias, Mango, Margon, and Anti-Flirt.
At the same time, Martina made her presence felt on the runways of New York, Paris, London, and Milan. Since she was based in Barcelona, Martina made a point to appear in Spanish fashion shows, such as the l'Oreal, Cibeles and Salo Gaudi, where she helped showcase many hot Spanish designers. Throughout the '90s, she traveled the world as a top international model. |
