| Lauren is a news anchor in Los Angeles. She has also worked as a correspondent for the Fox Sports Network, an entertainment reporter for Extra! and is the host of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance competition. She has also made cameo appearances as a news reporter in several films, including Fight Club and The Longest Yard. |

Wendy Lauren Sanchez was born in December of 1969, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After graduating from high school, she left the Land of Enchantment for the bright lights of Los Angeles. She attended El Camino College in Torrance, California, where she wrote for the college newspaper, The Warwhoop. She made the dean's list at El Camino, and qualified for a scholarship to the University of Southern California, where she majored in communications.
sanchez returned to KCOP-TV in 1999 to anchor UPN 13 News, and also landed the entertainment reporting gig for FOX 11's 10 O'clock News on KTTV in L.A. She was a finalist in the hosting contest for the syndicated talk show The View in February 2000, and has been filling in as a substitute co-host for Good Day L.A. since 2003. In 2005, she became the host of FOX's popular dancing competition So You Think You Can Dance.
Sanchez started out as a news desk intern for L.A.'s KCOP-TV in 1993 before landing a gig as an anchorwoman and reporter for ABC affiliate KTVK-TV in Phoenix, Arizona. Next came a stint as a correspondent with Extra!, the nationally syndicated entertainment news program. For the Fox Sports Network, she served as anchor/reporter on Fox Sports Tonight, as well as a correspondent for the sports magazine Going Deep, and an entertainment reporter for the Best Damn Sports Show Period. |
