Born January 20, 1978, in Boston, Massachusetts, Joy Giovanni was an excellent student in high school, completing her education in just three years.
Following secondary, she moved to California to study and enjoy the beautiful weather. Unsure of where her future lay in terms of a career, Joy tried out several options before falling back on what she had always enjoyed: fitness.
In 2001, her personal trainer encouraged her to compete in the Los Angeles Model Expo. Joy, never afraid to take on a new challenge, accepted. Beautiful and very much in shape, she won the competition easily. Newly confident in her modeling talents, Joy turned to the entertainment industry. She enrolled in Hollywood's Brian Reise Acting School in Hollywood, and got her first major part in the short film Instinct vs. Reason.
In an effort to gain more exposure as an actress, Joy turned to television and appeared in episodes of CSI, Monk, Entourage, and Navy NCIS. Joy also began to make headway as a model on TV. First, she appeared in the 2004 Lingerie Bowl, a pay-per-view event that aired at halftime of the Super Bowl.
Though this one-time spot as a sexy football player was important for her career, Joy's biggest feat in 2004 was winning a spot on World Wrestling Entertainment's Raw Is War program. She entered the $250,000 Raw Diva Search, finished in the Top 3, and was then called to join the WWE's Smackdown! program on UPN. |
