Known for her openness about her sexuality -- in fact, that's an understatement -- Benson has seen tabloids, men's magazines and sportswriters alike scramble to include her name in their headlines. |

An Atlanta, Georgia native, Anna Benson had a difficult time growing up. She reportedly earned her income as a stripper and was generally a wild girl, often drinking and partying excessively. It took a chance meeting with soon-to-be pro pitcher Kris Benson for all that to change.
Kris became a No. 1 draft choice for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Anna tamed her ways somewhat and settled down into the life of a wife and mother. Over five seasons in Pittsburgh, her husband became a steady but somewhat mediocre pitcher, so it was often wife Anna who grabbed the headlines.
Until her remarks on Stern's show, Anna was known for her outspoken views on women's issues and human rights. Along with Kris, she founded Benson's Battalion following the September 11th terrorist attacks. The organization funds police and fire departments as well as other groups with the goal of creating safe communities throughout the U.S. Anna also works closely with several charities, including the Red Cross and Salvation Army.
It was not her big heart and caring for others, however, that launched Anna's name into the spotlight. Following Kris' signing to the Mets in November 2004, Anna gradually became a fixture in the New York media. It wasn't long before men's magazine FHM had awarded Anna the title "Baseball's Hottest Wife," put her on the cover of their December issue and featured some incredibly hot shots of her inside. If anyone bothered to read the interview -- a tough task, considering how hot Benson looks in those images -- they would have realized just how naughty she really is. |
