| Country singer Tracy Lawrence has released solid, honest material that even non-country music fans can relate to. His strength has been recording tunes that combine elements of drama, passion and human insight, and taking typical, everyday moments and making them universal. |

| He may not be a household name in homes unfamiliar with contemporary country music, but Lawrence has produced some of the biggest down-home hits of the '90s, including chart toppers like "Sticks and Stones," "Alibis," "Texas Tornado," and "Better Man, Better Off." |

Following a much-publicized assault conviction and divorce from his second wife in 1998, Lawrence took a break from the hectic pace of the recording studio and the cross country promotional tours to sort his life out.
The critically acclaimed Lessons Learned marked his comeback in 2000, though it only managed one major hit. Atlantic closed its country division shortly after the album was released, and Lawrence signed with Warner Brothers Nashville in 2001.
"Life Don't Have To Be So Hard" was a hit from his self-titled Warner debut, which received mixed reviews and sold fewer copies than expected. The singer soon parted ways with the label.
Lawrence switched record companies again and returned with Strong on DreamWorks Nashville, in March 2004. The album entered Billboard's country chart at No. 2, and the Top 200 album charts at No. 17.
The single "Paint Me a Birmingham" reached the country Top Ten, as did its follow-up, It's All How You Look At It!
In May 2004, the country star hosted the annual Sizzlin' Country concert for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Las Vegas, and in June, he became a member of the Alzheimer's Association's National Advisory Council. |
