| Robert emerged as a comedic actor in the mid-‘80s with a season on Saturday Night Live (1985) to his credit and roles in movies like Weird Science (1985) and Back to School (1986). His breakthrough performance came in 1987 when he played a drug-addicted man in the drama Less Than Zero. He earned rave reviews and an Oscar nod for his tour-de-force portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in Chaplin (1992), and a Golden Globe for his brief stint on Ally McBeal in 2000. Other notable roles include Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), A Scanner Darkly (2006) and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006). |

2005 found the actor co-starring with Michael Keaton in Game 6, with Val Kilmer in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and featured alongside David Strathairn and George Clooney in the highly acclaimed Good Night, and Good Luck.
