Omarion

Why He's No. 89

Formerly the frontman for the boy band B2K, Omarion is now gaining fame as a solo artist with his debut album O (2005), and a memoir of the same name. Omarion is also becoming known to movie fans, thanks to roles in flicks like You Got Served (2004) and Fat Albert (2004).

Back Stage

Since then, Omarion has been touring, although a minor scandal has marred his reputation: Omarion was in London for the Live 8 concert in the summer of 2005, when, on July 7, terrorist attacks rocked the city. A Reuters article soon after quoted a press release, supposedly from Omarion's publicist, that seemed to imply that Omarion, whose only connection to the bombings was that he was in the same city, had somehow suffered from them and needed his fans to pray for him. While Omarion and his press agents denied involvement, questions as to who released the statement remained.

Meanwhile, Omarion is branching out into a film career. He founded a production company along with Marques Houston and manager Chris Stokes called the Franchise Boys, and is set to appear in the movies The House (2005) and Street Soldier (2007), as well as the pending project You Got Served 2.
