| In the late '90s, Nick Lachey fronted popular boy band 98 Degrees, who had hits with the tracks "Hardest Thing," "Way You Want Me To" and "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)," and saw all four of their albums become platinum-certified. In fall 2002, Nick Lachey married fellow pop star Jessica Simpson and, less than a year later, the couple debuted their reality show, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, on MTV. The show became a runaway hit, and Nick Lachey, in turn, became a TV star. |

Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica debuted in 2003, and immediately, audiences were captivated by the comical way the spoiled wife and down-to-earth husband got along. It wasn't long before critics realized that this was one reality show that was here to stay, and MTV soon had a success on its hands.
Into its third season, Newlyweds has made Nick and Jessica TV stars, more than supplementing the losses Nick felt after a debut solo album, SoulO, failed to generate much press.
Moving toward television and film more and more, Nick landed a role on six episodes of Charmed in 2004, and then went on to make six TV specials with wife Jessica, including a Christmas variety show and Nick & Jessica's Tour of Duty in 2005, where the couple flew to Iraq to put on a concert for America's servicemen and women.
As Nick attempts to iron out details for a show of his own with either ABC or FOX, you can catch him in two movies in 2005; he has a small role in Bewitched and plays a stockbroker-turned-jewel thief in The Hard Easy. |
