Though he spent the ‘90s appearing in one obscure film after another, Clive Owen came into his own following a series of electrifying performances in films like 2002’s The Bourne Identity, and 2004’s King Arthur and Closer (for which he garnered an Academy Award nomination). And despite the fact that all those James Bond rumors never quite came to pass, Clive’s willingness to poke fun at himself was never more evident than in his brief cameo in 2005's Pink Panther remake where he played “006.”
His work in 2005’s cult-classic Sin City and Spike Lee’s 2006 heist drama Inside Man -- opposite fellow Top 49 finalist Denzel Washington -- seems to have cemented his star status, and there’s little doubt that Clive is in this for the long haul. |

Clive has made no secret of his disdain for the paparazzi, going so far as to purposefully avoid star-making roles to ensure his family’s privacy. His wife -- a former actress -- takes care of their two children full-time and Clive generally spends his downtime hanging out at home.
Clive’s passion for soccer is legendary among his colleagues and fans, and the actor has been known to sink into a deep depression if his beloved English team doesn’t perform well.
But really, Clive seems to spend most of his time working; he’s appeared in over a dozen movies since 2000 and clearly shows no signs of slowing down. We wouldn’t have it any other way. |

| As expected, Clive’s eclectic tastes are reflected in his upcoming projects. First up is a highly anticipated adaptation of P.D. James’ acclaimed novel Children of Men, which is being released in December (just in time for Oscar consideration). 2007 brings three more Clive-centric films to the forefront: The wildly over-the-top and aptly titled action film Shoot ‘Em Up, a period drama called The Golden Age and the sure-to-be-dazzling Sin City sequel from filmmaker Robert Rodriguez. |
