| If there's a cooler musician out there, he's tough to find. Beck blends musical styles and rhythms like a maestro. He's one laid-back, uber-hip creative genius. He creates songs out of samples and comes up with ideas no one else could dream of. Whatever he's smoking, we want some. |

But ever since that chart-topping monster hit our eardrums, Beck has continued to impress and amaze with trippy videos and even trippier songs from albums like Odelay and Midnite Vultures. This dude has remained eerily brilliant for more than a decade. |

Beck took 14 months to record his next album, 1999's Midnite Vultures. In 2000, Midnite Vultures won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance. Beck also went on a worldwide tour to promote the album.
In 2001, Beck covered David Bowie's hit "Diamond Dogs" using hip-hop production values. His next project was a folk album titled Sea Change, released in 2002. His father David Campbell contributed some string arrangements to this album. Beck toured again to promote this album and hired the Flaming Lips as an opening act for the tour.
In April 2004, Beck married Marissa Ribisi (Giovanni Ribisi's twin sister), and had a son whom he christened Cosimo Henri.
In March 2005, Beck released Guero. The tour for the album spans the summer and fall of 2005. He will also be opening for the Rolling Stones on their tour for three dates in September and October of 2005.
Outside of music, Beck enjoys cartoons and has done voice acting (as himself) on the animated shows Futurama and Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. He has also been linked to the Church of Scientology, though this is unconfirmed. |
