TOM FORD CONFIRMS OF DESIGNING WOMENSWEAR
The men's designer gure has decided to make change in his work, and plannes to design ladie's wear. The 2008 CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year winner Tom Ford has confirmed rumors that he and business partner Domenico de Sole are likely to launch the line next fall.
Ford, who previously designed women's wear as creative director for Gucci, said that he and his business partner Domenico de Sole were currently on the lookout for financing, but that the new line was likely to launch next fall. He like to start his new project but he is waiting for the appropriate funding
"Financing is extremely expensive right now, so if we find financing in the right situation we'll be able to start a women's collection soon. If we don't, we may have to wait a while. You know it will take me 18 months when I start, because I have to hire the team, find the factories, put everything together and then get the stores ready so there's a place for these clothes."
