CARRIE UNDERWOOD'S THIRD ALBUM 'PLAY ON'

Hot singer Carrie Underwood is coming up with her new album - 'Play On'. Luckily, she viewed the writing and recording process of 'Play On' as a labor of love, rather than just one more thing to check off her huge to-do list. The album will be released Tuesday (Nov.3).

Carrie Underwood is coming with her highly anticipated third album,' Play On'. Underwood's music career has been stated, five years ago since she wins 'American Idol'. She come up with her first two albums, 2005's "Some Hearts" and 2007's "Carnival Ride," she has sold 10 million records, notched 10 No. 1 hits and won four Grammy Awards, along with numerous other industry accolades.

There are large expectations with 'Play On' but the Oklahoma native seems poised to meet them. The album's first single, "Cowboy Casanova" rocketed into the top five in just seven weeks on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

A cautionary tale about a man "who looks like a cool drink of water, but he is candy-coated misery," it blasted out of the gate with first-week sales of more than 110,000 digital copies.

In 'Play On' Underwood had written seven of the 13 songs, along with fellow Okie Brett James and hip-hop impresario Mike Elizondo.

She added "I hate deadlines, I love projects. I love things that I love to do. If I have a project that I am totally into, and I love it, then I am all about it. I will go above and beyond and do crazy stuff. I was always the kid in class that would bring something that was really extravagant and had way too much effort put into it. Everybody else would do theirs just enough to get an A and I had mine that was like ... awesome."

Biography

Carrie Underwood (full name Carrie Marie Underwood) was born on March 10, 1983 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA. She is a singer and winner of the fourth season of the American Idol contest. She studied at the Checotah High School and the Northeastern State University and after graduating in 2006 she got a degree in mass communications. When she was three years old she began singing in her town's church and then her parents became aware of her talent. In the summer of 2004, Underwood auditioned for American Idol in St. Louis. On March 22, 2005, Underwood sang a powerful rendition of the number one 80's rock hit "Alone" by Heart and judge Simon Cowell predicted that Underwood would not only win the competition, but would outsell all previous Idol winners. Underwood was the second winner never to have been voted in the bottom three. While on the show, Underwood gained a loyal fan base known as "Carrie's Care Bears." Interestingly, she is in the same sorority (Sigma Sigma Sigma) as Linda Denham, the creator of the original Care Bears franchise. Underwood appeared on the sixth season of American Idol, where she sang her single "Wasted" on March 8. This was her fourth time performing on the show since winning the competition in 2005. Also, Underwood performed at the Idol Gives Back concert singing her new song, "I'll Stand By You", (a cover of the Pretenders hit) along with Kelly Clarkson, Rascal Flatts, and others. Underwood sang the same song at American Idol's season finale on May 23, 2007, receiving a standing ovation. The album's second single, "Jesus, Take the Wheel" was released to radio on October 18, 2005. It received so much airplay that it debuted at #39 on the Billboard Country Chart in its first week, setting a record. It eventually reached #1 for 6 consecutive weeks, and was only two weeks shy of Connie Smith's record of an 8-week run back in 1964-1965 with her #1 hit "Once a Day". That’s how her career started and how she became a famous singer. She moved to Nashville, Tennesse after winning in order to remain close to the recording studio. In the same year she won the competition, she released her debut album called "Some Hearts". On December 7, 2006, Underwood's album Some Hearts received four Grammy nominations. Underwood received two Grammy awards for "Best New Artist", and "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" while "Jesus, Take the Wheel" received nominations for "Best Country Song" and "Song of the Year". After two years she released a new album, "Carnival Ride". She is involved in a romantic relationship with Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys Quarterback. She has many fans and she is a famous singer now (2007). She is still very young and with her talent, intelligence and beauty she will surely remain in the music industry for many years. At the Grammy Awards in 2007 she won the titles for Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance with the song "Jesus, Take The Wheel".
