Actress Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger spent a week with drug addicts.
The Australian star, who acted in the romantic drama 'Candy' decided the pair should take a practical approach to the 2006 film and spent seven days talking to heroin users on the streets.
Abbie told to Total Film magazine: "For the first two days, we were sitting around table, talking about scenes and dialogue with writer and director Neil Armfield. Heath and I were going mad because we were playing a role of two heroine addicts and were sitting around analysing that?"
Heath and I were like, 'Neil, we have to get off this table because we are not going to be able to find any characters sitting at a table.' So I would go around town with Heath and spend time with addicts. I like to be realistic and I like to be on the go. And yes, I am a bit hyper too as an actor.
As the actress enjoys experimenting with different types of roles she didn't mind taking on such a dramatic part. She said, "I like experimenting. And it is really fun and try different characters."
