Jenna Fischer is most famous for her performance in NBC’s slow-burning comedy series, The Office. Jenna is part of an excellent ensemble cast which includes Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson.

Jenna plays the frequently agitated secretary/receptionist Pam Beesly in NBC’s The Office. While Fischer is cute, her real gift appears to lie with comedy -- but being cute and funny at the same time is a pretty potent combination that has served Jenna well thus far.
Jenna’s not what you’d consider a conventional star. She has no real aspirations of ruling the world, but would be perfectly content playing Pam Beesly for years. A humble star? Is this possible? Her cute, funny and humble personality gives us more than enough reason to root for her. |

Jenna Fischer was born on March 7, 1974, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from Nerinx Hall High School, Jenna attended Truman State University. While initially aspiring to attend law school, Jenna went for a Bachelor of Arts in theater instead.
Jenna moved to Los Angeles upon graduation where she met her future husband, James Gunn, who became her eventual manager. Before establishing a stable career, Jenna worked at several different jobs while struggling to find her niche in the industry, eventually getting her big break with The Office.
By Jenna’s own account, she was never the kind of actress who was the star of everything, but she often put on her own productions to get leading roles. Fortunately, many of her acting professors found her professional, animated, creative, energetic, and easy to direct.
Corroborating this account is Lee Orchard, a professor of theater who said, “When I think of Jenna, I think of somebody who’s fun to work with. You’d want to cast her on a project because you know you’d have a good time, and you know she’d be very coachable and directable and creative.”
Since her role on The Office, Jenna has clearly headed in the direction of becoming a leading comedic actress. Given the relative dearth of comic leading ladies (Does Sarah Silverman qualify?), this would seem to be a smart move on her part.
In addition to her role in Blades of Glory (2007) with Will Ferrell, Jenna landed a role in yet another comedy entitled Quebec (2007), as well as The Brothers Solomon (2007). |
